Precious Accents carried both, so I figured I would try out the plated for ~$25 before spending $250+ for the solid gold. I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the actual shape of the pinecone, but even more disappointed in the color. The "gold" is more of a polished brass with hints of rose and doesn't even come close to matching. My 14K necklace and 18K watch links have slight differences in the color due to the different purities, but I have to question if this is actually even gold plated.Verified Buyer1 Total Reviews - Warranty
